Israeli Attacks in Gaza Leave Dozens Dead or Injured

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported on Friday that its ambulance crews were dispatched to transfer the dead body of a Palestinian and a wounded individual from Nuseirat following an Israeli attack.

The organization stated that the two Palestinians were targeted by Israeli snipers in the city of az-Zahra in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

A video posted by PRCS depicted their crew retrieving a body from a car and placing it in the ambulance amidst a crowd of onlookers.

Simultaneously, reports from the Wafa news agency indicated that an Israeli air raid had struck another home near Gaza City, this time in the Remal neighborhood west of the city, resulting in the deaths of at least three people, including a woman and a child.

In a separate incident, an attack on a home in Gaza City’s al-Wehda street claimed the life of at least one person, with others sustaining injuries. The air raid targeted a residence on al-Wehda street, a central thoroughfare in Gaza City, according to Al Jazeera, causing casualties among Palestinians in the area.

These attacks come on the heels of reports regarding Israeli air raids and artillery shelling in various neighborhoods around Gaza City, including Tuffah, Zeitoun, and Shujayea.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) issued a warning regarding the health risks posed by accumulating waste in Gaza as temperatures rise. The agency emphasized the critical nature of its services but underscored the need for unimpeded access to effectively address the escalating challenges.

The UN agency has faced significant financial constraints following the withdrawal of major donors, prompted by allegations from Israel accusing UNRWA staff of affiliations with "terrorist groups." However, funding has begun to resume following an independent review that found Israel's claims lacked credible evidence.

Jan Egeland, secretary-general of the Norwegian Refugee Council, highlighted the urgent need for improved communication and safety measures in Gaza, particularly in light of recent tragedies. Egeland stressed the indiscriminate nature of the violence, citing the deaths of innocent civilians and aid workers.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the toll of Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7 has reached a staggering 34,356 Palestinians killed and 77,368 wounded. The ministry reported that within the latest 24-hour period, 51 individuals lost their lives, with 75 sustaining injuries in the ongoing Israeli war.
