Iran Praises Oman’s Support for Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lauding Oman for supporting Gaza and for treating the injured Palestinians in its hospitals, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian called for strong collective action by Muslim countries to force the Israeli regime to stop the onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

In a meeting with his Omani counterpart in Muscat on Sunday, Amirabdollahian expressed deep concern over the ongoing war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank with US backing.

He praised Oman's support for the Palestinian nation and Muscat's recent action in accepting a group of Palestinian wounded for medical treatment, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

The Iranian foreign minister called for collective and stronger action by the Islamic countries to halt the killing machine of the Zionist regime.

Expressing satisfaction with the political relations between Iran and Oman, Amirabdollahian voiced hope for expanded relations in line with the evolving political process between the two countries in all fields.

The Iranian minister described the Sultan of Oman's previous visit to Tehran and the related negotiations as well as the agreements as a new starting point for expanding bilateral cooperation.

Amirabdollahian also expressed satisfaction with the activities of the joint commission of the two countries, hoping that more active joint committees would yield further concrete and positive results in various dimensions of mutual ties.

For his part, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of relations between the two countries in various fields, considering the agreements between the heads of the two countries as the beginning of a new phase in their relations.

He expressed hope that by continuing and strengthening the activities of the joint committees between the two countries, the boost in bilateral relations would accelerate further.

Al-Busaidi emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the commercial and tourism fields, as well as that of the private sectors of the two countries.

The Omani minister also condemned the Zionist regime's attack on Iran's diplomatic building in Damascus, describing it as a violation of treaties and diplomatic immunities, and an act of aggression.

During the meeting, the two diplomats also discussed the issues of mutual concern at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.
