Iran, Iraq Unite against Israeli Aggression in Phone Diplomacy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani condemned Israel's atrocities and pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation for regional stability.

During a phone conversation with Al Sudani, the Iranian President issued a stern message regarding Israel's aggression, stating, "By the will of God, this regime (Israel) will pay severe consequences for its criminal acts."

Expressing condolences for the loss of senior IRGC Quds Force commander Major General Mohammadreza Zahedi and his comrades in the recent terrorist attack on the Iranian Consulate in Syria by the Zionist regime,  Al Sudani attributed these acts to Israel's defeats in the region. He remarked, "We are confident that with the dignified and authoritative directives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic resistance will achieve a decisive and final victory."

Al Sudani also took the opportunity to express Iraq's gratitude for Iran's unwavering support in establishing peace and stability. He emphasized his government's commitment to bolstering strategic relations and cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad.

Raisi condemned the terrorist attack, labeling it a blatant violation of diplomatic norms and international peace principles. "By the will of God, this regime will face severe consequences for this criminal action," he asserted.

Furthermore, Raisi highlighted the shared stance against the Zionist regime, emphasizing solidarity between Iran and Iraq. He commended Iraq's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and urged all Islamic countries to adopt similar positions.

Expressing Iran's commitment to bilateral and regional cooperation with Iraq, Raisi expressed hope for strengthened relations between Tehran and Baghdad. He voiced optimism, stating that with the determination of high-ranking officials from both countries, relations would flourish more than ever before.
