Direct Flight between Iran, Belarus Gets License: Envoy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The ambassador of Belarus to Iran said all licenses have been granted by the Belarusian Airline Company to Iran for launching direct flights between Tehran and Minsk.

Dmitry Koltsov made the remark in a meeting with Chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh, adding that his country attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields especially in the fields of trade and economy.

Koltsov noted that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed between the two countries 15 years ago for the establishment of a joint economic council in line with spurring the trade and economic ties.

Hassanzadeh, for his part, put the value of the annual trade between Iran and Belarus at $60 million.

The two countries have high capacities to boost their industrial and economic cooperation, he said, adding that the current volume of the trade between Tehran and Mink is negligible.

He further pointed out that the Iranian companies have high potentials in the fields of oil and petrochemical industries, construction materials, manufacturing large-scale pumps, industrial equipment and machinery, steel and pharmaceutical industries, as well as knowledge-based products observing the requirements of the international standards, according to Mehr news agency.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hassanzadeh pointed to a visit by an Iranian trade-economic delegation to Belarus in June and said dispatching and admitting the trade delegations will boost the level of cooperation between the two countries.
