Tehran, Baghdad Urged to Establish Special Working Group to Develop Energy Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian and Iraqi oil officials were urged to set up a specialized working group comprising the representatives of oil and gas contracting companies, manufacturers and suppliers of oil and gas equipment to bolster cooperation in the energy sector.

At the request of the Iraqi side, an expert-level meeting was held in the presence of visiting Iraqi Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani and with the participation of about 40 Iranian contracting companies active in the oil and gas projects, oil, gas and petrochemical engineering and contracting companies, and manufacturers and suppliers of oil and gas equipment, Iran’s deputy oil minister for engineering, research and technology affairs announced.

The meeting was held at the venue of the International Conferences Center of the Oil Ministry aimed at introducing the specialized and industrial capabilities of the Iranian firms active in the oil and gas sectors, Vahid Reza Zeydifar stated, Hayat.ir reported. 

The deputy oil minister placed special emphasis on the policies of the Oil Ministry in the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi on strengthening the cooperation between the two countries and supporting the export of technical and engineering services to neighboring Iraq.
