Iran's Space Organization to Carry Out 30 Launches in 7th Development Program

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The spokesperson for the Iranian Space Organization has announced the organization's plan, in line with the approval of the Seventh Development Program Commission, to execute 30 launches during the seventh program.

Hossein Dalirian during a press briefing referred to the recent endorsement of the Iranian Parliament’s Integration Commission regarding the seventh development program for the space sector, and said, "The Integration Commission of the seventh program has sanctioned the necessity for conducting 30 research and operational launches by the program's conclusion. Considering the existing capacities in satellite design and construction, launch vehicle design and construction, and ground infrastructure, achieving this integration commission's endorsement is feasible."

Dalirian added, "The Iranian Space Organization, based on the 10-year space program and with the esteemed president (Ebrahim Raisis)'s support, is presently steering the country's space sector toward revitalizing and advancing programs. This course is being earnestly pursued.

"Since the thirteenth administration took office (in August 2021) until now, 7 research and operational launches have been successfully executed, constituting a record-breaking accomplishment. We aspire to augment this record with the planned launches, executed in collaboration with the General Staff of the Armed Forces for this year," he highlighted.

"Aligned with this year's launch program, the thirteenth administration will accomplish more than 10 launches over a span of approximately 2 years, serving as an auspicious commencement for what the commission members had envisioned for the seventh development program over a 5-year horizon," Dalirian continued.

"With the commendable advancements in the field of space during the tenure of the thirteenth administration, achieving 30 launches within 5 years is an entirely attainable objective, God Willing. This volume of launches satisfies the minimum requisite number for realizing the 10-year program and solidifying space technology. Indeed, this endorsement by the Integration Commission, mirroring the parliament's attention to the space sector, is among the Iranian Space Organization's requisites. Naturally, the support of the administration and parliament is indispensable for the realization of space initiatives," he concluded.
